Overview
The RTP 3000 Series is similar in make-up and characteristics to a high-heat polypropylene. It has one of the lowest specific gravities (0.83) of all commercially available thermoplastics. It exhibits chemical resistance similar to polypropylene, but has high temperature capabilities.
A heat deflection temperature of 330 degrees F (166 degrees C) at 264 psi can be obtained with 30% glass fiber reinforcement. Mechanical properties are similar to polypropylene.
Neat polymethylpentene resin has a light transmittance of 90%, allowing tinted color matches when transparency is required.
