Overview

Syndiotactic Polystyrene provides a good balance and competes well against other materials in a wide variety of applications. It has excellent flow and heat properties with cost advantages compared to LCP and PPS, provides better temperature performance than PBT and PET, and has lower moisture absorption than nylon 6/6, PPA, and PBT. It also has a very low dielectric constant of 2.5 and is IR solderable.
